What a Term – And We’re Just Getting Started!
This term has absolutely flown by, and we’ve packed so much in since returning after Christmas! We’ve enjoyed a second-hand book sale, a chocolate raffle, the 2026 Challenge, a non-uniform day – and we’re rounding it all off with a disco this evening!
We’re also delighted to have donated £1,660 to the school. This has helped fund Science Night at the infants, Times Tables Rock Stars, outdoor learning items, and Bee-Bots for the infants. These are child-friendly, bee-shaped programmable floor robots that help children learn coding, logic, and directional skills in a fun, hands-on way. https://www.tts-group.co.uk/programmable-robots/bee-bot/
Thank You
We want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported the PTA so far this year. Whether you’ve volunteered at an event, shared ideas, or simply come along to support, it truly makes a difference. We couldn’t do any of this without you.
That said, volunteering really is at the heart of everything we do. Our PTA team is made up of just four members, all juggling work, family life, and children across both schools. Every time someone steps forward to help, it makes a real difference and takes a huge amount of pressure off the team. Even giving just an hour at any point during the school year can have a big impact.
At our recent Book Fair, we were incredibly grateful to the small handful of helpers who gave their time to make it happen. However, with only a few volunteers, running events can be a challenge. The more people we have involved, the smoother and more enjoyable these events are for everyone – especially the children.
Looking ahead, we have some fantastic events coming up, and we’d love your help. Whether it’s setting up, running a stall for 20–30 minutes, clearing away, or helping to sort prizes beforehand, every little bit helps. It doesn’t matter if your children are with you – from experience, we know how much they love getting involved!
Upcoming events
- Lightwater Village Fete – Saturday 9th May
- LVS-Fest – Sunday 7th June
- Garden Party – Friday 3rd July (after Sports Day)
